Shyla Perkins

The Diabetes Support Group in Havasu is a support group dedicated to improving the lives of individuals who have been affected by Diabetes, led by Shyla Perkins.

“My name is Shyla Perkins and I have a passion for helping those with diabetes. My educational background is in Health Education and Health Promotion (BS). I graduated from Arizona State University in 2020. I have also been diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic since 2009. Embracing this new lifestyle is a very difficult journey that oftentimes feels very lonely. My goal is to help everyone feel more included and to not only practice but embrace the tools to create a healthier lifestyle with diabetes. Everyone who has been affected by diabetes is welcome to join this support group.”

Diabetes Support In Havasu

There is no cure for diabetes, but it can be managed. Balancing the food you eat, with exercise, and medication, (if prescribed) will help you control your A1C. This can help prevent or delay complications associated with diabetes. You do not have to go on this journey alone, with support from one another we can learn how to use these balancing tools to live long and healthy lives.
