About Dementia Connection of Havasu
Dementia Connection of Havasu is a community-based program under the Havasu Community Health Foundation umbrella, dedicated to supporting individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia — and the caregivers who love them.
We believe that no one should face a dementia diagnosis alone. Through peer-led support groups, caregiver education, memory screenings, and community events, we help families find connection, resources, and hope.
Our programs are free or low-cost and open to all Lake Havasu City residents. Whether you are newly diagnosed, a seasoned caregiver, or simply looking for information, Dementia Connection of Havasu is here for you.
Our Programs & Services
Dementia & Alzheimer's Support Group
A safe, welcoming space for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers to share experiences, find encouragement, and learn from one another. Meets regularly throughout the year.
Memory Cafe
A relaxed social gathering for people with memory loss and their care partners — featuring themed events, light refreshments, and meaningful connection in a judgment-free environment.
Virtual Dementia Tour
An immersive, first-hand experience that helps caregivers and community members understand what it feels like to live with dementia — building empathy and improving care.
Memory Screenings
Free or low-cost memory screenings available to Lake Havasu City residents who have concerns about their cognitive health or a loved one's memory changes.
Caregiver Education & Resources
Workshops, printed materials, and one-on-one guidance to help family caregivers understand dementia, manage daily challenges, and access community resources.
Community Awareness Events
Public events throughout the year to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease and dementia, reduce stigma, and connect residents with local support services.
Memory Cafe
A monthly gathering for people with memory loss and their care partners — a place to relax, connect, and enjoy themed events together.

Virtual Dementia Tour
Step into the world of someone living with dementia.
The Virtual Dementia Tour is a scientifically-designed program that gives caregivers, family members, and community volunteers a first-hand experience of what it feels like to live with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
Participants wear specially designed gloves, shoe inserts, and headphones that simulate the physical and sensory challenges of dementia — making it difficult to complete simple everyday tasks. The experience builds deep empathy and transforms the way people provide care.
Dementia Connection of Havasu offers Virtual Dementia Tour experiences for family caregivers, healthcare workers, and community groups. Contact us to schedule a session or learn when the next public tour is available.
