About Stroke Recovery & Caregivers
Stroke Recovery & Caregivers is a community support program under the Havasu Community Health Foundation umbrella, dedicated to helping stroke survivors and their caregivers navigate life after stroke with confidence, connection, and practical resources.
A stroke can be a life-changing event — not just for the survivor, but for the entire family. Our peer-led support groups provide a safe, welcoming space where survivors and caregivers can share experiences, learn from one another, and find encouragement from people who truly understand.
Our programs are free and open to all Lake Havasu City residents. Whether you are newly recovering from a stroke, managing long-term effects, or supporting a loved one through their journey, Stroke Recovery & Caregivers is here for you.

Stroke Survivor Support Group
A welcoming, peer-led gathering for stroke survivors — a place to share experiences, celebrate progress, find encouragement, and connect with others who understand the journey of recovery.
Caregiver Support & Resources
Dedicated support for family members and caregivers of stroke survivors — providing education, coping strategies, respite guidance, and a compassionate community of fellow caregivers.
Stroke Education & Awareness
Community presentations and outreach events covering stroke warning signs, risk factor reduction, recovery expectations, and how to support a loved one after stroke.
Recovery Milestone Celebrations
Recognizing and celebrating the progress of stroke survivors — honoring every step of the recovery journey, no matter how large or small.
Community Connection Events
Social gatherings and community events that bring stroke survivors, caregivers, and supporters together — reducing isolation and building lasting friendships.
Resource Navigation
Guidance connecting stroke survivors and families to local, state, and national resources — including the American Stroke Association, rehabilitation services, and HCHF programs.
Know the Warning Signs of Stroke
Act FAST — every minute matters.
Face Drooping
Does one side of the face droop or feel numb? Ask the person to smile — is it uneven?
Arm Weakness
Is one arm weak or numb? Ask the person to raise both arms — does one drift downward?
Speech Difficulty
Is speech slurred or hard to understand? Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence.
Time to Call 911
If you observe any of these signs, call 911 immediately. Note the time symptoms first appeared.
